Cheers to the end of summer! Homemade sorbet is about to change your life. It’s fresh, pure, and completely elevates summer dessert. We love our Breville Smart Scoop for making refreshing sorbet that we enjoy every night.
The automatic functionality makes it super simple to use. I was honestly shocked at how easy it was to operate. Just pick your favorite ingredients and it does the rest. It’s the first ice cream maker to automatically sense the hardness of the mixture based on your selection, and makes the perfect batch! Sorbet has become our go-to dessert this summer.
It’s also the best ice cream maker. You can set it and forget it, thanks to the timer and keep-cool setting. The machine keeps churning and chilling the contents until you’re ready to scoop it out. Perfect for a busy mom, especially if we have a few friends over!
You can choose from 12 hardness settings with pre-sets for sorbet, frozen yogurt, gelato and ice cream. Our favorite recipe so far is the Coconut Lime Sorbet from the new Oprah Winfrey Cookbook: Food, Health, and Happiness.
I have so enjoyed paging through this beautiful book, and checking out new recipes to try. The photos are gorgeous, and the recipes are completely drool-worthy!
There’s also plenty of behind-the-scenes photos and stories from Oprah herself. Any of my fellow foodies would appreciate a well-curated cookbook, and this one feels like a weekend with Oprah, chatting about food and life. It’s a must-have for your cookbook collection.
One stand-out recipe for us is this Coconut Lime Sorbet. It’s light, refreshing, and couldn’t be easier to make– especially with The Breville Smart Scoop.
Start out by pre-cooling the ice cream maker. While it’s getting ready, blend up the cream of coconut, coconut water, lime juice, and lime zest in a blender.
Once The Smart Scoop is chilled, pour in your ingredients, and start the sorbet-making process!
About an hour later, this yummy dessert is ready for family & friends. We love it with a wedge of lime, but it’s also delectable with some pineapple.
You’ll love this sorbet! Serve it up and enjoy the warm summer nights.
