Got some kids who eat all day? *Hand raised* Honestly, some days, it just feels like we go from one snack to another, with me desperate to come up with ideas that are wholesome and appealing to the kids. These little bites hit on both points. Score!
We’re a big fan of energy bites in my house, so I’ve tried out several recipes. Usually, it’s some combination of oats, nuts, and nut butter. Plus, some sort of treat mixed in, because why not?
This time around, I decided to try and mimic the flavors of classic S’mores. Maybe I’m anxious for the weather to turn warm, maybe I’m feeling nostalgic, or maybe I just love mini-marshmallows… all are true. Mostly, I just knew the kids would love them. Which is the whole point, right?
Energy bites are oh-so simple to make– even the kids can help! Just mix up the ingredients in a big bowl and roll into balls small enough for little hands. Firm up in the fridge and you’re good-to-go!
The downside to making these yummy snacks? Due to the honey, they are sticky as all get out, and make a mess of your hands.
Softsoap Hand Wash Plus Lotion to the rescue!
This stuff is seriously genius. Not only does it cut through the sticky, gooey, buttery mess, but it smells amaaazing, and leaves your hands so silky soft. I don’t say this lightly, but it makes washing your hands feel like a spa experience.
Did I mention the scents? We love the Shea & Cocoa Butter, as well as the Orchid & Coconut Milk. It fills the whole kitchen with a gorgeous scent, which stays on your hands all day long. Definitely a nice little indulgence to have on my kitchen counter. And its non-greasy formula is proven to hydrate. With the sheer amount of times I wash my hands in a day, I really appreciate a hand soap that adds moisture back in.
Using a hand soap that takes care of my hands allows me to focus on my priorities, like taking care of my kids. Prepping for the day by making them a good snack that will fill them up, makes me feel like a super mom. And trust me, every kid loves a S’more.
