s'mores energy bites

We’re a big fan of energy bites in my house, so I’ve tried out several recipes. Usually, it’s some combination of oats, nuts, and nut butter. Plus, some sort of treat mixed in, because why not?

handy tools when making a successful pinterest energy bites recipe:

  • cookie scoop – scoop mixture into hand then roll, less mess, uniform energy bites
  • spatula – sturdy for mixing well, scraps sides of bowl well

This time around, I decided to try and mimic the flavors of classic S’mores. Maybe I’m anxious for the weather to turn warm, maybe I’m feeling nostalgic, or maybe I just love mini-marshmallows… all are true. Mostly, I just knew the kids would love them. Which is the whole point, right?

frequently asked questions

What is an energy ball?

Energy balls have a combination of protein, good carbs, healthy fats, and high in fiber. Also, energy balls are portable, so they are the perfect healthy on-the-go snack!

Do energy bites have to be refrigerated?

It is not required for most recipes, but they do tend to get dried out sitting on the counter. Keeping them in the fridge extends their shelf life.

What are protein balls made of?

Protein balls are made up of some combination of peanut butter, oats, seeds, and honey. Then people add other mix-ins to suit their taste.
