HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS HILLSHIRE FARM POLISH KIELBASA RECIPE IN THE SLOW COOKER?
This recipe is super easy. You put all the ingredients in the slow cooker, except the hash browns and sour cream. When ready to serve, cook up your hash browns and then top it all with some sour cream! Easy!
We love all things German cuisine in our house. This Kielbasa is so flavorful. I decided to pair it with classic Oktoberfest ingredients– peppers and onions. Plus hash brown potatoes to mellow the whole dish out.
Chop, chop, chop everything up. This can be done ahead of time, if you are entertaining. I like to use red & yellow peppers, they add a unique flavor and lots of color to this dish.
Pop it all in the slow cooker, along with some garlic, oregano, and basil, and let it do all the work. Your house will smell amazing while it’s cooking. My husband was very anxious to dig in!
I fried up some potatoes, and layered the Kielbasa on top. A dollop of sour cream completed the meal!
It tastes like smoky Kielbasa on top of a loaded baked potato. And it is SO filling. Serve this for a special Oktoberfest dinner and your guests will feel the love!

- 1 lb. Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa, chopped
- 1 Red Pepper, chopped
- 1 Yellow Pepper, chopped
- 1 medium Onion, chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 T Oregano, dried
- 1 T Basil, dried
- 1/2 cup, chicken or vegetable broth
- 4 cups hash browns, pan-cooked
- 1 cup sour cream, for serving
- Add all ingredients to the slow cooker, except hashbrowns and sour cream.
- Cook on low for 6 hours.
- Stir when done.
- Pan cook the hashbrowns, per the package directions.
- Serve over hash browns, top with sour cream, if desired.
*This nonstick pan is a great option for cooking hashbrowns!
