So apparently the theme for this week is EASY. Just like the asparagus app (or side dish or brunch superstar), these caramel rolls are so easy, they can barely be considered cooking.
Hey, as much as I love to cook, when I hear that a recipe requires no skill and minimal effort, my ears perk up.
I rejoice at the opportunity to cut corners.
Any recipe that gets me from a list of ingredients to delicious sticky bun in under 10 mins is a winner.
I love the idea of inverting the cinnamon rolls in a muffin pan.
And I take no shame in buying them in a can.
Usually we buy the traditional ones with the white frosting. This time, I bought the caramel ones because I thought they would go better with the bacon & pecans.
So you coat the bottom of the muffin tin with the caramel topping. Then add the chopped-up bacon and pecans*.
*You can also customize this recipe- I didn’t add bacon or pecans to the rolls meant for my daughter.
You guys, the caramelized topping on these rolls is divine. Ever wonder what happens when you caramelize caramel? Good things, dear reader, good things… it gets thicker and melts into the cinnamon rolls.
I don’t think I’m buying the white frosting ones ever again. Oooey gooey caramel-glazed cinnamon rolls for the win.
Especially, with the bacon & pecans. Protein! Hello!
Totally makes this a balance meal.
