The best parts about shopping at Aldi- and cutting your grocery bill in half!
*Not sponsored in any way. I’m just a fan!
I talk A LOT on this blog about my love for Aldi, and how much it saves me money. A couple of months ago, I did a post on what to buy & what to skip when shopping there.
This time, I’d like to point some of my favorite parts of Aldi, the aspects that made me dedicated shopper.
10. Quick Check-Out:
The cashiers are trained to be speedy. Most products (like cereal) have two barcodes on them to expedite the checkout process. Sometimes I even feel like I’m holding up the line. That’s a good thing in my book. Fast checkout and minimal small talk? Right on.
9. Slashed Prices (look for flowers!)
Aldi is known for having good deals and low prices, obviously. BUT- keep a lookout for rock-bottom or close-out prices. Always a good deal. A lot of the items are baking mixes, which are shelf-stable for a long time.
Specifically, I love their discount flowers. I often find bouquets for a buck, especially after a holiday.
8. Off-Brand Products Worth Buying
In a regular grocery store, you’re always kinda weary of buying off-brand items. You never know if it”ll be worth the savings, or if you’ll get a dud. Anyway, I’ve bought almost everything off-brand at Aldi at one time or another, and rarely been disappointed. I don’t know what their magic secret is… but I’m grateful.
7. Random Deal Aisle
They have great deals in this section! And you never know what you will find here. Bamboo salad bowl? Patio umbrella? Throw blanket?
Sure they’re impulse buys, but it’s still a bargain.
6. Pet Section
I love Aldi’s pet section because I have saved SO much money here. The cat food & litter are my favorites.
Did I just say litter was my favorite?
5. Awesome Organic Produce Section
I’m not particularly strict about organic shopping, but there are plenty of you out there. Great prices, good selection. Check it out.
4. Low Price on Basics
One of the main reasons why I walk in the doors…. excellent prices on milk, eggs, bread, cheese, salad… etc., etc. Really helps to keep the grocery bill down.
3. Friendly Cashiers
The people who work at Aldi are some of the nicest grocery store employees that I have ever encountered. They really seem to enjoy their jobs! It’s just… nice.
2. Bag Your Own Groceries
Let’s be honest here, it’s better to bag your own groceries. Better for the environment, of course, but also your sanity. Unless you like each item in a separate bag with the meat next to the chips. In which case, go for it!
1. Store Size
The control freak in me deeply appreciates the fact that Aldi is compact. They have (most) everything I need, in a simple store design. I am in and out in 15-20 minutes. Perfect.
What’s your favorite part about shopping at Aldi? Any must-buy items that are always on your shopping list?

I love everything about Aldi’s!! We got our first one about 6 months ago. It was built on the other side town, but I still go a couple times a month. I do wish they would build one on the west end of Owensboro, Ky.
