Continuing the week of remaking blog favorites with terrible pictures, I baked cinnamon scones.
These scones could be the mascot for my site. SO easy, made with common pantry ingredients, crowd-pleaser, taste like a million bucks. Basically, what I strive to do with all of my recipes.
So it’s not surprising that despite the unfortunate food photography when I first posted them in 2013, they are pinned over and over again. Honestly, they are awesome. And you’re about to see why.
I made these on a whim one day, way before this blog. They were fun to make! There is something so soothing about working with basic dough ingredients, especially if the recipe comes out every time. I’m looking at you, cinnamon rolls.
They got rave reviews from family and friends, including my husband who is not a sweets person. It always tickles me when the simplest recipes are the most popular. People want simple, especially when it tastes like this.
I love that the ingredients are always around. I can whip them up whenever. No fresh fruit or crazy ingredients needed. Of course, if you get inspired, and have something interesting around, by all means. I’ve used this as a basic recipe and added all sorts of goodies- like applewood bacon & white cheddar.
Look at that cinnamon-sugar topping… and the icing? The flaky layers? You must try.
Takes all of 10 minutes.
