But I also like to get hair & make-up advice from other types of bloggers too.
Mommy bloggers, foodies, etc.
Why? Because when they share beauty advice, it’s often tried and true tips from people who need to look decent quickly and on a budget.
Which is exactly where I’m coming from.
So even though I am not a beauty blogger, today I’m sharing a few of my favorite beauty finds that make my life a little easier.
I first read about these nail polishes on I Wore Yoga Pants.
Everything Whitney says about them is true. $1… and they last forever.
I’m going on four days without chips. Not one. Not a crack, nothing. I’m going to have to repaint them in a couple days, only because the painted part is growing away from the cuticle.
And they’re $1.
Take that, Essie. Oh, and I love the brush tip. I’m sure it’s all wrong according to manicurist standards, but it makes the job so much quicker for me. Perfect.
Second….. this lipstick.
I’ve been on a search for about five years for the right lipstick. Something I can throw on as I run out of the house; that brings some color to my face without looking like I’m wearing lipstick.
You know what I’m saying?
Not too much shine. Just a pretty color that looks like I’m wearing nothing at all.
I finally found it this year, in a couple of magazines. I still tear out pictures from magazines, like we all did before Pinterest, and I noticed that I had kept two separate beauty articles suggesting this lipstick as a subtle, nude shade. And it works.
And lastly, my favorite Birchbox find of all time…
I don’t typically buy make-up that can’t be found in a drug store. My budget, “this season of life”, whatever you want to call it, does not allow for Nars blush.
But I broke my rule on this product, because it saves me so much money. Not only does it help to cover up dark circles, but it keeps my eye make-up in place all day long. I used to reapply at least a couple of times a day. That’s just a waste of product. Now, I dot some Stay, Don’t Stray on in the morning, apply my eye make-up and forgettaboutit. Oh, and a tube of the stuff lasts forever.
Do you use any of these products? Are you going to run to the store to get the amazing $1 nail polish? Do it.
