According to bloggy advice articles, you are supposed to put basic descriptions as post titles, so people can find your page easier in search engines. But it makes for really dry titles.
Like, I wanted to title this Small Changes…Big Impact. But no one is searching for “big impact”, right? Well no one who likely wants to look at my hallway.
Just a funny thing about blogging.
Now, onto the changes we’ve made lately.
This hallway is a sticking point with my husband. We had brown doors and brown trim when we first moved in. Older-looking, and really darkened the hallway with the brown carpet we put in.
Then why did you choose brown carpeting, you ask? Good question. We had creme-colored carpeting in our bedrooms in the last place (I just wrote “palace” on accident, yeah no) we lived, and it got beat up with two cats and a young child.
Why we chose carpeting over hard wood or laminate is a whole ‘nother topic. That will be an upgrade in the future. But! The point is that we needed to brighten up the hallway.
So Sean painted all the doors white, and replaced the gold hardware with oil-rubbed bronze.
And from the other side:

And the new lights we picked out and my electrically-talented husband installed.
We also changed up all the registers (aka air vents) when we realized that the old ones didn’t let the A.C. do its job. So we got these for the upstairs.
And these for the downstairs.
On second thought, I should have just titled this “Really long post”. Besides, I’m sure my husband would call removing all the doors and painting them a BIG project.
Either way, we’re much happier with our upstairs hallway. More updates to come!
