Enough recipes and DIY decor, I thought. I’m searching my pinterest boards for something… for me. Heading into the “My Style” section.
I saw this tutorial. And I thought, perfect. And then, oh crap, I have to do selfies.
There was no way around it. I tried.
So, I sucked it up, and purposefully put a camera in my face. Because if someone is going to make fun of my selfies, I want it to be, “That faceless girl takes horrendous selfies.”
Regardless of my desire to stay behind the camera, this was an awesome project. It took like 5 minutes, and transformed an old t-shirt into something that impressed my husband.
(And the man does not notice girly stuff. I have to tell him when I get my haircut…)
So you take a t-shirt (the tutorial mentions a men’s shirt, but mine worked fine)

Oh, and be assertive about it. Look at the difference between when I chopped at it, versus holding the fabric taut while cutting:

Ok, so it does look like someone cut it. And if I had sewing skills, I could probably hem it up. But I don’t, and honestly, it looks pretty good just as is.
I also did a scarf. Instead of cutting arm holes, you cut a circle about a foot in diameter in the middle (length-wise) of the scarf. It should be a few inches from the top (part by neck) and like 10 inches from the bottom (part that lays on your back).
But you can totally eye-ball it.
Lay it out & it should look like this-
Keep in mind–you can always trim the ends to make the front part of the scarf shorter.
